It’s been a long winter for everybody! But spring has sprung, and the Scottish government has published its road map out of lockdown… So, things are, all in all, looking much brighter! With overseas summer holidays still looking unlikely for 2021, it’s time to think about a staycation! The Highlands are stunning in July, and at Bearnock Lodge, we still have a little space during that month for you to book your Scottish self-catering holidays! Read on to discover more about how we can accommodate you and what to look forward to…
Scottish Self-Catering Holidays in July
While the government website doesn’t give specific dates beyond May, they offer a broad sense of likely timings from the start of June.
The easing road map suggests that up to 8 people from up to 4 households can socialise indoors in a private dwelling (including premises that offer Scottish self-catering holidays) from the end of June. Furthermore, up to 15 people from up to 15 households can socialise outdoors.
So, what does this mean for those wishing to book beautiful Bearnock Lodge?
Well, it means that we can accommodate groups of up to fourteen, with four sleeping in the Log Cabin, two in Waterfall Cottage, and the remaining eight in the Main House. These numbers can be increased for extended households. (Remember, our charges for both the Log Cabin and Waterfall Cottage are extremely modest and only in place to cover cleaning).
The joy of booking your Scottish self-catering holiday at Bearnock is our delightful outside spaces and grounds. Including our unique Arbour/Summer house, perfect for you to spend the evenings outside with the rest of your group.
Why the Scottish Highlands are perfect in early summer
July is a wonderful month to plan your Scottish self-catering holiday… Here are three reasons why;
Enjoy Long Days and Longer Evenings:
The summer months in the Highlands are the warmest of the year, with extensive daylight hours, so you can enjoy outside socialising for longer.
Think hide and seek for the kids followed by long lazy evening meals and a wee dram.
Beat the Crowds:
We currently have availability for early July, before the start of the main school holidays. That means you and your friends will beat the crowds! So, whether your hiking or biking, there will be fewer tourists on the trail. Plus, you’ll be able to grab a table at one of our favourite local dining spots.
Make some new friends:
Early summer is one of the best times of year to watch wildlife. This wildlife watching calendar details some of the most popular native species you might see in early July!
