Holidays in Scotland

12/08/2019

Do you count yourselves among the growing number of British families who want to discover more on their doorstep? If you’re looking for a staycation to delight the entire clan, do think about booking your next holidays in Scotland.

At Bearnock Lodge in the Highlands of Scotland, we’ve been welcoming holidaymakers across our threshold for a decade. So, as you can imagine, we know a thing or two about holidays in Scotland.

In this article, we thought we would share some of the secrets of Scotland and convince you to book your stay.

Five reasons to book your holidays in Scotland:

Legendary Landscapes:

The views in the Highlands are truly phenomenal. We promise you so many ‘WOW’ moments you won’t know which way to look next. So, whether you plan on capturing the dramatic scenery on camera, with pastels or just by holding on to the memory, we can’t recommend it highly enough.

Capturing the Castle:

As you drive through Scotland, you’ll be enchanted by the fairytale castles. A mile or two down the road from Bearnock, on the banks of the infamous Loch Ness, are the ruins of Urquhart Castle. Venture a little further to Inverness, where the Castle Viewpoint offers fabulous 360-degree views of the Highland Capital and many of the famous landmarks in the surrounding area. At the end of your sightseeing day head back to Bearnock, although not a castle, you will be able to enjoy all the comforts of this rather grand home with your family.

Acres to be Active In:

There are so many ways to enjoy your holidays in Scotland. If you enjoy boating, biking and walking, this is the place for you. Close to Bearnock is the Glenurquhart Forest and mountain-bike trails. Explore legendary Loch Ness from the water with Jacobite. About five miles to the west of Bearnock you’ll find Cannich, which leads to the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, where there are lovely walks through ancient Caledonian pinewoods and across open moorland, providing the opportunity to enjoy all sorts of wildlife and unspoilt splendour. Boating,

Eat, Drink and Be Merry:

Enjoy West Coast seafood, mouth-watering highland beef fillet, succulent and full of flavour, craft brews, fine whiskies and so much more! Our kitchen(s) at Bearnock allow you to create your Highland family feast, but if you fancy a night off, do check our ‘Where to Eat’ guide.

Exciting Events:

Scotland makes the perfect stage for National and International events. There’s something for everyone, from major sports competitions to literary and arts festivals. If you’re visiting the Edinburgh Fringe, why not extend your stay? Venture a little further north for a completely different vibe in the beautiful Highlands. It’s the perfect way to wind down with friends and family.
